Master of Ceremonies

I find joy in meeting people and speaking to people!
I followed this through to my passion in the process & art of hosting, speaking, & engaging with diverse audiences.

Through these events, I have had the privilege of connecting with people from all walks of life, creating memorable experiences for audiences & maintaining positive flow/professionalism to the programs.

KCON USA

KCON is an annual convention held across globally, by CJ E&M. Born in Los Angeles in 2012, t has grown to be an event held in over 10 countries.

It is the world’s largest fan celebration of Korean culture and music. Thousands of Korean brands come together for a weekend of entertainment, games, and fun! It is followed by a concert in the evening. Attendees reach up to 140,000 fans throughout the weekend.

CJ E&M was looking for a host and/or master of ceremonies to run their events throughout the day. As people of many different backgrounds attend, speaking both English and Korean to the attendees is a must.

Having high energy, excitement for the day, engaging with the attendees for play of games, informing them of the programs, were just a few of the criteria.

As I love meeting new people and playing games, I lead the MNet booth through the day’s activities, give aways of artist-signed goods, and more.

I was asked to return the following years for a larger stage presence, in which I spoke with hired influencers, content creators of the K-culture space, introducing their various programs throughout the day.

I was pleasantly surprised to have some attendees share that they came back the following years with the excitement of seeing me again!

McDonald’s College Fair at Sunny Hills High School

The 14th Annual College Fair, presented by McDonald’s, was to take place at Sunny Hills Highschool in Fullerton, California.

With a heavy Asian & Asian American population residing in the Orange County area of California, we partnered up with Sunny Hills High School and received sponsorship from The Korea Daily to host a college fair on a Saturday afternoon in the Fall, right as students get into the gear of coming back to school.

To start off the day, we wanted to kick off with some excitement for the students. It’s a weekend and exploring your options post high school does not always have to be stressful!

We had a few speakers to kick-off for an inspirational start - Philip Wang, the co-founder of Wong Fu Productions with over 4M subscribers around the world, and Dennis Cha, a Projects Advisory Associate from KPMG. They shared with the students; their walks as students themselves.

As an eMCee, I started off the morning program, introducing all of the speakers and informing all of the parents and students of the various speeches, seminars, & programs provided for the day.

I used to be a student once too, attending these events; making it light energy and fun was important to me. Seeing some smiles and sharing the McDonald’s goodies with students created a warm and vibrant energy for the day!

The Korea Daily Square Inauguration Ceremony
on the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard & Normandie Avenue

In celebration of the 45th Anniversary of The Korea Daily, we spoke with the city of creating “The Korea Daily Square” to show our commitment to Koreatown and our communities.

As it was an in-house and company event, one of the reporters and I sat together to plan the show and discuss how to introduce our new square. With historical facts of Wilshire and Normandie, as well as the Korean American communities’ impact in the area was highlighted and celebrated.

Mr. Herb Wessen, the President of the LA City Council, Ms. Young Kim, CA State Assemblywoman for the 39th Congressional District, Mr. Steven Choi, Assemblyman for the 68th Congressional District, and many more assemblywomen and VIPs of the Korean American communities.

With remarks from our politicians and leaders of how The Korea Daily has served the communities for 45 years, we came to a close by raising the plaque onto the square!

The Korea Daily’s Economic Forum
Sponsored by Bank of Hope, Hanmi Bank, PCB Bank & CBB Bank

In celebration of the 45th Anniversary of The Korea Daily, the first Economic Forum was held at the Oxford Hotel in Los Angeles.

Sponsors included Bank of Hope, Hanmi Bank, PCB Bank, and CBB Bank, along with keynote speakers from the LA County Economic Development Corporation, World Trade Center of Los Angeles, and Milken Institute’s Center for Regional Economics and California Center.

We planned the run of show & I was able to introduce the speakers in English and Korean, speaking in both languages for audience, allowing all attendees to understand what was going on.

It was an absolute pleasure to host a professional event; with our live-time interpreters and keynote speakers in mind.
